A 10-foot length is not enough information to price a quartz countertop. Depth, material selection, edge treatment, openings, and installation scope all affect what needs to be quoted. A straight counter, an island with seating, and a run with a waterfall end are different projects even when each measures 10 feet long.
Start by drawing the shape and adding the depth. Then identify sinks, appliances, exposed edges, and any matching backsplash or vertical pieces.
A simple area example
For a rectangular top that is exactly 10 feet long and 25 inches deep, the surface area is approximately 20.8 square feet: 10 × 25 ÷ 12. This is an illustrative measurement, not a finished fabrication plan or a quote.
That calculation excludes a backsplash, waterfall ends, and any other separate pieces. It also does not establish how much slab material the project requires. Cutting layout, pattern placement, and available slab dimensions still need review.
What the length leaves out
- The exact quartz product, finish, and thickness.
- Which edges are exposed and which profile is selected.
- Sink, faucet, and appliance openings.
- Backsplash, end panels, or other matching pieces.
- Required support and cabinet preparation.
- Removal, disposal, delivery, installation, and separate trade work.
Ask for these decisions to appear in the estimate. Do not assume that a price for the horizontal top includes everything around it.
Check the slab layout before making comparisons
A simple rectangle may still involve a pattern-placement decision. Discuss the actual material and how the selected part of the slab will sit in the room. If a proposed seam or additional slab changes the estimate, ask for an explanation tied to the layout.

The earlier article's general dollar ranges are not a current United Stone price list. Send the team a rough sketch, photos, the project location, and your preferred material if you have one. Identify whether the old countertop will be removed and what plumbing or appliance work is involved.
